2025 Spotify Wrapped Recap

Every year, more than 700 million users of Spotify anxiously await its Spotify Wrapped
service. It is usually released around the last few days of November or during the first week of December. This year's released on December 3rd. The service, launched in 2016, typically features each listener’s top artists, songs, and genres of the year. In years prior, Spotify seemed to heavily rely on the usage of Artificial Intelligence to make the summaries feel more interactive and unique. However, a large number of listeners felt the usage of AI dampened the custom feel. To the excitement of many, Spotify appeared to lessen the amount of “obvious” utilization of AI this year.

Naturally, there were multiple songs, albums, and artists that stood out on Wrapped this year. The five most streamed artists were Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Drake, and Billie Eilish. A few of the top albums were HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, MAYHEM, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, KPop Demon Hunters, and GNX. The top three most streamed songs this year were as follows:
1. "Die With A Smile" by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga
2. "BIRDS OF A FEATHER" by Billie Eilish
3. "APT" by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars
When it comes to the contents of this year’s Spotify Wrapped, it beats previous years by a long shot. This year’s Wrapped contains all of the usual features; including total minutes listened, top artists, genres, songs, and clips from favorite artists. In addition to all of these, there are some new interactive bits. The “top song quiz” is a fun activity where you can guess which of your top five songs is your most played. Wrapped also provides music “club” placement. Each listener is sorted into one of six groups describing your music taste and what kind of listener you are. The six clubs and their descriptions are:
Cloud State Society “Your club finds peace through music.”
Grit Collective “Your club believes in rebellion through music.”
Club Serotonin “Your club thrives on good vibes.”
Full Charge Crew “Your club is committed to the endless party.”
Cosmic Stereo Club “Your club traverses terrestrial barriers with music.”
Soft Hearts Club “Your club believes that vulnerability is the key to good music.”
In my opinion, this year’s Spotify Wrapped was a complete success, filled with personalized reflection, worldwide connection, and music celebration. It had a pleasant blend of classic features and new experiences. Many were not expecting this year’s Wrapped to be as likeable as years past, but I think it lived up to all of the excitement. Despite listeners going in with low expectations, Spotify proved its users wrong this year. Here’s to next year’s Wrapped being just as memorable!
