Kate Reiniche
Kate Reiniche is a senior and has been with the Viking Chronicle since her freshman year. Outside of the paper, she is part of Hoggard's Swim and Science Olympiad teams. She is passionate about public health and the environment, and can usually be found near any sort of water! Kate is currently learning how to crochet, and she is a Converse and a pickle enthusiast.

Cassidy Thompson
Cassidy Thompson is a senior and has been a member of the Viking Chronicle since sophomore year. When she’s not writing her own fantasy novels, Cassidy balances her time advocating for student representation on the school board as a co-creator of the Student Voice policy, practicing both cello and piano, and serving in her church as well as on Hoggard’s Unified Track and Field team. Cassidy was born on Christmas day and is very passionate about her love for the greatest movie of all time, The Princess Bride.

Emma Smith
Emma Smith is a sophomore and is in her first year at the Viking Chronicle. Outside of school, she is an avid traveler and music listener. Emma spent the summer studying journalism with The New York Times and hopes to bring in those learned principles and world view into our school community!

Issy Gee
Issy is a junior and has been a writer for the Chronicle for a year. She absolutely loves to read and write, and is a hardcore Star Wars fan. Outside of the Chronicle, she is Co-President of Hoggard's Writing and Debate clubs.

Charlie Maurer is a senior and has been a member of the Viking Chronicle for 3 years. Having made a handful of short films, he hopes to enter the film industry after graduating with the intent to direct.

Miia Backstrom
Miia Backstrom is a senior and editor for the Viking Chronicle. Along with reading and writing, she spends her time playing piano, working out, and serving in her church. She loves singing classical music, and wants to teach private voice lessons as a career. Above all else, she is obsessed with playing Pickleball!

Aparna Dhulipala
Aparna Dhulipala is a junior returning for her third year on the staff of the Viking Chronicle! She is passionate about sustainability and social justice, and is excited to write more articles centered around those themes. Outside of newspaper, she's involved in Science Olympiad, Youth Climate Action Coalition, Teen Court, and more, and in her free time, she loves to read, listen to music, and make pottery.

Porter O'Brien
Porter O’Brien is a junior and this is her first year at Hoggard and working on the Viking Chronicle. Before this, Porter was involved with the literary magazine at her old school which received high acclaim. Outside of the paper, she likes going to the gym and concerts. She also is a swiftie and loves eating fruit.

Reilly Boone
Reilly Boone is a senior who has been a member of the Viking Chronicle since her junior year. She is constantly writing whether I’m journals, the newspaper, or her own If she’s not writing you’ll find her photographing weddings, running local brands social media’s, or traveling everywhere and anywhere. As sports media co-editor she is excited to show what Hoggard athletics has to offer on and off the field!

Ryan Reiniche is a Junior and has been on the newspaper since his freshman year. Outside of writing, he swims for Hoggard and the Waves of Wilmington club team. He enjoys watching football, surfing, and talking about any sports in general.

Manasi Prasad
Manasi Prasad is a current sophomore, and she is very eager to write and edit for the Viking Chronicle! When she is not writing, Manasi enjoys playing and listening to music, hanging out with friends, and playing tennis. She plays piano, violin, and sings in multiple groups around town and enjoys competing as part of mutiple academic clubs at Hoggard, including Science Olympad, Envirothon, and Battle of the Books. Manasi is passionate about community service and school connectivity and is an officer in both Beta Club and Student Council. When she is not actively doing something, you can find Manasi composing, reading, or sleeping in her room.

Kylie Sasser is a senior and has just recently joined the Viking Chronicle. She has developed a passion for writing, and is excited for her new role in the Viking Chronicle. She enjoys surfing, being outside, hanging with friends, and playing sports! She spends most of her time serving at her church and playing basketball and running track at Hoggard!
