Senior Avery Thompson is returning for her third year with The Viking Chronicle, and can’t wait to see student connection and community come to life through the Hoggard Newspaper. In addition to serving as The Chronicle Editor-In-Chief, and editor for the yearbook, Avery spends her days dedicated to her youth ministry, lacrosse team, and to her afternoons spent playing board games or a mean game of pickleball.

Senior Lauren Coyle is excited to serve as a second year Editor for The Viking Chronicle! She is passionate about community service, fashion, and traveling. Lauren is looking forward to senior year, spending time with friends, and archiving it all in the school newspaper!

Meghan Zylich is a senior returning for her fourth year with The Viking Chronicle. She is passionate about all things English, and can’t wait to serve as a third year editor to expand and strengthen her skills. When she is not reading or writing, Meghan enjoys performing in musical theatre productions around town, going to the beach, coffee runs, and spending time with friends and family. She is a film and music enthusiast, loves to travel, and is excited to dive into all that the paper will have to offer this year!

Senior Claire Walters is excited to continue being on The Viking Chronicle. She spends her time volunteering, babysitting, spending time with her siblings, and doing schoolwork. Claire is the oldest of five siblings. She loves spending quality time with her siblings like going to the beach early in the morning before church or school. Anyone who truly knows Claire knows that she is very involved in her church and loves giving back to the community.

Allie Medlin is ecstatic to return as a Viking Chronicle editor for her senior year at Hoggard. If she's not helping out with clubs or working, she likes to spend her free evenings with her friends and family. Long walks, all types of music, and new movies are her favorite ways to pass time. Allie looks forward to writing and editing all kinds of articles this school year!

Junior Aubree O’Rourke is beyond excited to be serving a second year as an editor for The Viking Chronicle. When she’s not writing for the newspaper, you can find her doing all kinds of things like singing in a choir or leading a student council meeting. One of her favorite things to do in her free time is scroll on YouTube for another song to karaoke to! During her second year of editing for The Viking Chronicle, Aubree hopes to help writers perfect their writing in any article they send her way.

Senior Pascale Hanna is excited to serve as an editor and Social Media Assistant for The Viking Chronicle this year! Outside of school, Pascale is a figure skater, dancer, and competitive piano player. She enjoys going on walks while listening to music, traveling, shopping, and taking pictures. Being creative is her specialty, whether that's writing songs, choreographing a routine, or writing articles for the Hoggard viking newspaper, and she always puts her best effort into everything that she does. Pascale looks forward to spending another year with The Viking Chronicle!

Skylar Wimbish is continuing his tenure with The Viking Chronicle in his second year and first one as an editor. At school, he loves anything science-related, from Science Olympiad to Envirothon. He's also a huge history buff, novice billiards-player and photographer, and a sucker for all things music. In his off time, he can be found hanging out with friends, going to the gym, gaming, diving deep into his interests, or venturing around the Wilmington area. Skylar is as ready as ever to share some of his passions this year in The Viking Chronicle.

Junior Kerynn Evelayna Harris is very excited to serve as an Editor of The Viking Chronicle this year. Outside of school, she enjoys playing lacrosse at sunset with her friends, watercolor painting, baking tres leches, listening to 90s rock, and going on long walks with her dog Roman. Kerynn also has a deep passion for history and when she's not studying for her APs, you can often find her in her room going down Wikipedia rabbit holes on every random topic you can think of and reading historical fiction & fantasy novels like no tomorrow. She loves meeting new people and having recently moved from Columbia, Maryland down to Wilmington, she looks forward to getting involved in the Hoggard community and using her creativity and love of storytelling to help make The Chronicle a place where every student can find their voice.

Sophomore Karime Perez is delighted to serve as Editor for The Viking Chronicle this year. Karime is determined about everything she does from Volunteering at Novant to her academics. She loves to be around her friends, family and pets. Karime is extremely excited to serve the Viking Chronicle as Editor and is set on using her writing and determination to make the Hoggard Newspaper more than just a school newspaper.

Sophomore Tessa Dikkers is excited for the opportunity to be an Editor for The Viking Chronicle. Tessa is a dedicated and hard working student, talented member of her competition dance team, and a loyal friend to all. Outside of school, she spends her time practicing her dances, reading classic literature, and cuddling her cats while watching TV. As an Editor, Tessa is hoping to grow The Chronicle's audience, and share her passion for writing with the school.

Freshman Myra Shanker is looking forward to her first year serving as an editor for The Viking Chronicle! Besides writing, some of Myra's passions include reading, history, and cinema. When she's not working on her writing, she can be found practicing ballet at her dance studio, hanging out at local coffee shops, and watching films by director Wes Anderson. During her first year at Hoggard, Myra hopes to join several rewarding clubs and is excited to express her creativity by writing for The Chronicle.
